Hamilton will consider whether or not a design review panel of professionals is needed in the city to oversee development and architectural decisions.
Are you kidding me?
We should be lining in the streets and praying to heaven for such a thing. Both believers and non believers.
Apparently Ottawa, Toronto, and London all have one.
I need nothing more than the past performance of our ‘same old’ city council to convince me of this.
One word. Stadium!
How many projects in this city have ended with stalling arguments rather than results when dealing with issues of development, or anything for that matter?
Whether its historical significance or finding a location for a good city building project like the stadium, this council has failed this city miserably in the past.
Yes, we have seen signs of improvement however some would say largely due to a dedicated city staff and the financial realities of the area.
Steps like this could offer the experience, depth and vision that is solely lacking (with some) on city council.
My only concern, the information goes in one ear and out the other being more of a scape goat for those ‘stick a fork in it, it’s done’, do nothing councilors who are more interested in a ‘Welcome to Hamilton’ sign.
I’m Scott Thompson.
