Hamilton councillors will hear from the owners of a new reptile zoo next month.
Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo is expected to ask for a bylaw exemption to keep more than a dozen crocodiles, large snakes and other banned exotic animals.
The request will come next month, just weeks after an African rock python escaped an exotic pet store and killed two New Brunswick boys while they slept.
Owner Paul Goulet told the Spectator that he has until October 3rd to obtain a bylaw exemption for the Barton Street East zoo.
The zoo showcases Burmese pythons, anacondas, crocodiles, alligators, tarantulas and lizards.
