A province-wide day of action is planned today, calling for Ontario’s minimum wage to rise to 14-dollars an hour.
Groups across the province say the minimum wage should bring workers and their families above the poverty line.
The province recently announced a minimum wage advisory panel to study a possible increase.
Ontario’s minimum wage was hiked to $10.25 an hour in 2010.
Advocates for a minimum wage hike in Hamilton are planning a rally on August 20th.
