The City of Burlington is the latest municipality to have some concerns about the proposed Enbridge pipeline project called the Line 9 Reversal.
Enbridge wants to expand and reverse the flow of oil or gas through a pipeline that runs through Halton and Flamborough.
Burlington has submitted a letter to the National Energy Board which is considering the Enbridge request.
Burlington’s General Manager Scott Stewart says the city wants more than just assurances the residents and natural environment will be protected.
It wants a complete analysis of the project, a co-ordinated response plan in case of a rupture and that Enbridge is accountable — financially and operationally — for any event that may occur.
