A Hamilton construction company has been fined after the death of an employee in 2011.
McNally Construction has been fined 170-thousand dollars.
The Ministry of Labour says the worker was operating a battery-powered locomotive through a steel frame while working on a tunnel project at Mississauga Road and Queen Street in Brampton.
A supervisor was installing a fresh battery in the locomotive when the employee’s head was crushed between the battery pack and the steel frame.
McNally pleaded guilty to failing to protect the employee.
