A new piece of equipment purchased by Hamilton Police has helped them to find a distraught man.
The family of the 57 year old called police last night at around 9:30, concerned for his well being after he left his home.
Police and the K-9 Unit responded to the area of Sanitorium Road, as well as a police ATV to help search a park in the area.
The man was located shortly after the search began. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The ATV was purchased thanks to a donation from Enbridge.
The company gave Hamilton Police almost 40 thousand dollars for a new ATV Unit, and almost 10 thousand dollars for mapping and GPS equipment.
The donation prompted a complaint against the Police Services Board back in June by a local group that opposes the Enbridge pipeline reversal.
Hamilton 360 argued that if police were involved with a standoff with protestors, it would be difficult for officers to remain impartial because of the donation.
