By now everyone has seen the footage of little Miley Cyrus grinding it out with Robin Thicke during Blurred Lines at the MTV music awards.
Now I’m not here to re-hash old stories, it is what it is.
What I am amazed about is how much attention it received after airing.
Sorry kids, I’m a middle aged man and ‘offensive’ wasn’t what I was thinking watching this performance.
Tacky, uncomfortable, hack, low end, trailer park, all come to mind and perhaps ‘offensive’ from a creative perspective, but certainly not sexually offensive.
There was nothing sexual about it, especially with the tongue. I thought she was having a seizure.
It reminded me more of a freak side show circus, than a bad porn movie.
But beyond that, my point is; it is nothing that we all haven’t seen before, many times from Elvis to The Stones to Madonna to Lady GaGa?
Why the fuss?
Is it really about what she did, being so risqué?
Or is it that we have become so dependent on nonstop information, no matter the value; that even something offering as ‘little titillation’ as this, is enough to trend on Twitter.
Don’t wake me next time, unless its Katy Perry and Beyonce giving each other a rectal exam.
