As parents are preparing for back to school, one Hillcrest parent is slamming that school’s uniform policy. It’s because Rachel Watson was told to go to a specific supplier.
This after the mom of a three year old going into Junior Kindergarten went out and bought polo shirts on her own, after finding out that J-M-L Uniforms on Parkdale Avenue didn’t have her daughter’s size.
The shirts she bought fit her child and were more affordable, but she still needed to have the school logo added. The school turned down her request for the logos.
The public school board’s policy says parents can purchse uniform items on their own and add the logo.
However, Hillcrest’s website says the policy is for the uniform to be purchased from their supplier and includes a discount coupon. (Hamilton Spectator)
