Lynwood Charlton Hall has won its two-year battle with the City of Hamilton.
The Ontario Municipal Board has ruled in favour of the group home for teenage girls with mental health issues —- and its application to move to a facility in the Corktown neighbourhood.
The O-M-B’s ruling overturns the city’s decision to oppose the necessary zoning change.
Augusta Street will become the new home for the eight-bed residence, as well as its day treatment program. It’s current location, a city-owned building on Charlton Avenue, would have needed 1.2 million dollars in repairs.
