Outdoor stalls at St. Jacobs Market could reopen as early as Thursday after a fire destroyed the two-storey building on Monday.
Damage is estimated as high as 2-million dollars and the Ontario Fire Marshall is continuing to search for the cause of the fire.
Market Manager Sheila Shantz says she’ll be speaking to the fire department to see if they can still run the open air market on Thursday.
Shantz says the vendors she’s spoken with already, are determined to rebuild the two storey structure, eventually.
But right now she says, the priority is getting them back to selling as soon as possible.
As many as 60 vendors have been affected by the fire.
