The McMaster Marauders had no answer for the Western Mustangs offence, as the Mustangs pounded McMaster 58-15.
The loss ends Mac’s 12 game home winning streak.
Western struck for 31 first half points including 21 in the second quarter, to cruise to the win.
Western’s quarterback Will Finch threw five touchdown passes, finishing the game 27-for-36 for 449 yards.
Western receiver George Johnson has nine catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns.
Tommy Marshall also had two touchdown catches.
Joshua Vandeweerd scored McMaster’s only major of the game with 24 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
He was McMaster’s top receiver finishing with a touchdown and 103-yards on 11 receptions.
McMaster’s Tyler Crapigna was a perfect three-for-three kicking field goals from 44, 36 and 35 yards out.
Marshall Ferguson completed 27-for-43 for 312 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Western’s kicker Lirim Hajrullahu hit six field goals during the game inserting his name into sixth place of the all-time CIS record book.
Hajrullahu is tied with 16 others who have hit six field goals in a game. The CIS record is held by Concordia’s Warren Kean who hit nine field goals (vs. St. Mary’s) on October 21, 2006.
McMaster’s last home loss came almost two years to the day when they dropped a 48-21 decision to Western on September 10, 2011.
The Mustangs improve to 3-0 while McMaster drops to 1-2.
