A Niagara Falls high school teacher has been convicted in Cayuga court of driving drunk while shuttling students on a school trip.
48-year-old Frances MacDonald pleaded guilty to charges of having more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
She has since sought treatment for alcoholism.
The incident happened in May 2012 on Highway 3 in Haldimand County when the van carrying students hit a motorcycle driven by a 57-year-old Hamilton man.
Richard White was taken to hospital and treated for leg, back and head injuries.
MacDonald has been banned from driving for two years, has been fined 2-thousand dollars and will do 75 hours of community service.
