The victim of an early morning shooting in downtown Hamilton has now died in hospital.
Police have not released the man’s name, pending notification of next of kin, but say an autopsy will be conducted on Saturday to pinpoint the cause of death.
The man had been rushed to hospital just after 4 o’clock on Friday morning. That’s when police officers and paramedics arrived at a highrise apartment building at 95 Hess Street South following reports of a disturbance.
Police also confirm that the suspect, 23 year old Camiche Lual, will face a charge of second degree murder.
He was initially taken to hospital as well, but was released following treatment for minor injuries and taken into custody.
Investigators set up a command post outside of the building and have spent much of the day speaking with residents of the high-rise.
