You can’t say these City of Hamilton employees didn’t pull their weight.
A few dozen workers from various departments gathered in front of city hall earlier Thursday for the 10th annual “truck pull” in support of the local United Way.
Instead of a truck, the teams of 12 pulled a 30-thousand pound HSR bus down a stretch of Main Street.
Last year’s event raised more than 6-thousand dollars and organizers are hoping to hit that mark again.
Overall, the City of Hamilton’s United Way goal this year is 124-thousand dollars.
It’s part of the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton’s 7-million dollar fundraising target.
