An autopsy has shed little light on the strange case of a Hamilton man who was left in his house for months after he died.
The body of 51-year-old Peter Wald was found earlier this week, and reports are he died in March.
But the death was never reported.
This, despite his wife, six children and two other families living in the house on St. Matthews Avenue in the north end.
Wald’s wife and children are said to be staying with relatives in Niagara and Children’s Aid has been contacted there.
The coroner says an autopsy couldn’t pinpoint the when the man actually died.
Police say the body showed no obvious signs of trauma and any decision about charges will depend on the autopsy report.
But given the condition of the body, it could take a while for the report to be completed.
