A crackdown on unsafe trucks continued today in Grimsby.
Niagara Regional Police and the MTO conducted commercial vehicle safety checks on Mountain Road pulling four vehicles off the road for equipment violations. Two of them had their licence plates seized for safety-related offences.
It’s part of an ongoing effort to address safety concerns involving trucks that use the escarpment accesses in West Niagara.
Two months ago, the driver of a truck lost his brakes while travelling down Mountain Road. In order to avoid causing greater damage, he deliberately steered into a delivery truck at a busy intersection in downtown Grimsby.
