There’s a call to move the Hamilton Farmers Market to the waterfront.
It comes from Shane Coleman, the president and spokesperson for the stallholder’s association.
He says there are plenty of problems with the current location downtown, even though it recently underwent a six million dollar renovation.
He points to the lack of parking and the small vendor stalls and the fact that it’s in a basement.
Coleman admits the idea of moving to the waterfront is just a dream right now, but he tells CHML’s Bill Kelly he’d like to see the market moved to the large warehouse now owned by the city near the old Discovery Centre.
He says the area has plenty of parking and would make the market a true “destination location.”
