The victim of a street robbery managed to negotiate to get his property back, but wasn’t able to detain his attacker.
Just before 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon a man was walking on Dunsmere Avenue near Spadina, talking on his cell phone when an unknown man approached from behind and grabbed it after pushing him to the ground.
The suspect then fled on foot, but two citizens who saw the incident and the victim chased the suspect.
During the pursuit, the suspect dropped his own phone which was picked up by the victim who then convinced the suspect to give him back his phone in exchange.
When he agreed the victim tried to hold the suspect for police but was punched in the nose. The suspect then fled. He’s described as black, 16-17 years old, thin build, between 5’10” and 6″ft, short black curly hair, and two diamond earrings in each ear.
