Although you wouldn’t know it from the weather, my family experienced another, “I guess summers really over” moment this weekend.
Both my boy and my girl officially started hockey.
But I must admit, considering the summer we had and the warmer than normal fall we’re enjoying, I wasn’t looking forward to losing the shorts and donning the down vest for practice.
The frost on the doors and windows at the rink wasn’t adding any incentive.
Back to the early morning practices and games, hot Tim Horton’s and cold rear ends for the parents.
Do you have your neck guard and stick, did you remember your water bottle?
It’ll take a while to get back in the swing?
I’m proud to say the Kurt man bagged a hat trick in his first game.
Alicia has mastered raising her wrist shot.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season.
However the biggest topic of conversation wasn’t fun, skills or goals, it was changing from shorts and T-shirts to down vests and track pants every time you walked in or out of the arena. But I’ll take that!
I’m Scott Thompson.
