Hamilton’s oldest fire station is celebrating a special anniversary this weekend.
Central Fire Station on John Street North is marking 100 years of service in the community.
To help celebrate the occasion, all citizens are invited to attend a station open house and brief dedication ceremony at Central Fire Station this Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Cake and coffee will be served and Mayor Bob Bratina will join Fire Chief Rob Simonds to unveil a new historical plaque.
Citizens will have an opportunity to visit with Fire Department staff and see both antique and modern day fire apparatus. The Department’s historical museum, located in Central Fire Station will also be open to the public.
