The McMaster Marauders evened their record to 3-3, with a 66-3 win over the Waterloo Warriors, at a sold-out homecoming crowd at Ron Joyce Stadium.
The Marauders led 15-0 after the first quarter, on a punt single from Tyler Crapigna, a one-yard run from Kesean Davis-Reynolds and a 40 yard touchdown pass from Marshall Ferguson to Daniel Vandervoort.
They led 37-3 at the half, after Ferguson hit Josh Vandeweerd with a five yard touchdown pass, and Tyler Loveday with a 13 yard touchdown pass.
Davis-Reynolds added another touchdown on a 9 yard run, and Crapigna added another single.
In the third, Loveday scored his second touchdown of the game, on a 3 yard pass from Ferguson, who threw another major to Declan Cross. Kingsley Amankwaa added to the scoring with a one yard run which gave McMaster a 58-3 lead after three quarters.
In the final frame, Wayne Moore scored on a 49 yard run, and Crapigna added another single.
The Marauders offence racked up 333 yards passing and 332 yards rushing.
Ferguson was good on 23-31 passes for 309 yards and five touchdowns, with no interceptions, and he wasn’t sacked.
Moore had 9 carries for 125 yards, Amankwaa added 84 yards on 12 carries, Davis-Reynolds rushed 11 times for 74 yards, while Cross carried 5 times for 48 yards.
The Marauders defence sacked the Waterloo quarterbacks 6 times, two from Mark Mackie and Michael Kashak, while Joe Richardson and Scott Martin had one each.
In addition, the Mac defence intercepted 5 passes; three from Keldyn Ahlstedt and two from Steve Ventresca.
The Marauders travel to Laurier to meet the Golden Hawks, Saturday, October 12. CHML broadcast time is 1 o’clock.
