Kitchener is getting ready to host the 45th annual Oktoberfest.
Canada’s biggest Bavarian festival, and second only in the world to the event in Germany, begins this Friday.
Oktoberfest spokesperson Scott Henderson says it features great German fare at 18 fest halls, music and a Thanksgiving Day parade.
He says about 700-thousand people attend the event each year, contributing to an economic impact of about 21-million dollars.
Henderson adds the festival also generates 1.5-million dollars for local charities.
