The Bulldogs lose a close game in the shootout against Grand Rapids.
Hamilton scored late in the third to force overtime but ultimately lost 4-3.
Hamilton opened the scoring thanks to a great point shot by Greg Pateryn on the power play. Nygren and St. Pierre with the assists.
After twenty minutes of play the Dogs held a 1-0 lead.
Halfway through the second period Hamilton thought they had gone up by two but instead the Griffens raced back the other way and tied up the game with a goal by Gustav Nyquist. Evans and Jurco picking up the assists on the goal.
Just 18 seconds later Sven Andrighetto scored his first goal as a Bulldogs to restore the lead for the home team. The assists went to Holland and Pateryn, his second point of the night.
Before the period wrapped up Grand Rapids tied it up on their 7th power play of the game as Calle Jarnkrok slid the puck past Robert Mayer.
With two period in the books the Dogs and Griffens were tied at 2.
On the power play early in the third Grand Rapids would take their first lead of the game with a goal by Jeff Hoggan.
with just 10 second on the clock and with their net empty it was Akim Aliu scoring for the Bulldogs to force sudden death overtime.
Overtime settled nothing and Hamilton did not score a single goal in the shootout while Gustav Nyquist would slide one past Robert Mayer.
Next up for Hamilton is a road game next friday when they visit Lake Erie.
