Now that the old City Motor Hotel has been flattened, attention is turning to what to do next with the east end property.
To that end, city staff are working with the office of Ward 4 Councillor Sam Merulla on a work plan that allows for public comment and feedback.
Planning staff will be attending Merulla’s next community meeting on October 29 to provide an update on the site and the zoning amendment process, as well as to hear input from the community about their vision.
Staff will then hold a public open house early in 2014 to present various concept plans and development options.
The city recently purchased the property and demolished the hotel which had become a symbol of crime in Ward 4.
