The Juno Awards may be coming back to Hamilton.
The city is one of two finalists to host the Canadian music awards in March of 2015, after the general issues committee voted to spend up to 250 thousand dollars on the bid.
Councillor Jason Farr notes that it’s a small price to pay, as cities which host the Junos enjoy an average economic impact of 12 million dollars.
The city’s funding would come out of the Economic Development Investment Fund.
Hamilton last hosted the Juno’s in 2001.
