Some big changes are planned for Rymal Road East.
But first, 32 residents want some answers from the City of Hamilton.
The plan calls for the road to be expanded from the current two lanes to four, with a centre turning lane.
Its to accommodate the extra traffic from nearby residential and commercial growth.
The city wants to buy part of the front property of existing homes for that expansion.
Foremost, the homeowners want to know how much money they’ll get for part of their front yards.
Planning and economic development spokesperson Debbie Spence says they hope to reach amicable deals with the homeowners, but if the city can’t, the work will go ahead without the required property.
Construction is slated to begin next year.
