Another major downtown development is in the works.
A vacant lot beside the Lister Block, which used to be the Thomas Building, will be rebuilt including a 16-storey condo development.
The plan was announced today by Hi-Rise Group at a Renew Hamilton learning forum.
Company vice-president Shawn Marr estimates the project will be worth $35 million. He said a sales office will open in the spring and he’s hoping construction will begin next fall.
The plan also calls for the three-storey Thomas building to be re-created as retail and office space. It had to be demolished due to structural issues.
