The Bulldogs lost 2-1 to the Marlies in Toronto.
Toronto opened the scoring at 8:29 of the first period as T.J Brennan scored on the power-play from Liles and Abbott.
The Marlies would outshoot Bulldogs 11-9 in the first period.
The second period brought with it another power-play marker for Toronto. This time it was Carter Ashton with the man advantage at 5:30 from Abbott and Smith.
After 40 minutes the Marlies found themselves with a 2-0 lead.
What has become a habit for the Bulldogs they started to come back in the final period as Micheal Blunden scored an un-assisted marker at 2:08 of the third.
That was as close as the Dogs would get as they were outshot 28-18
This was the first of 12 regular season meetings between the two clubs their next meeting is next Sunday when Hamilton hosts Toronto.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a home game Tuesday night when Rockford visits Copps Coliiseum.
