It’s that time of year again –time to get your flu shot.
Hamilton’s Pulbic Health Unit is operating its first in a series of flu shot clinics today.
The unit says now is a good time to get the shot because it takes about two weeks for your immune system to build up resistance against influenza.
Flu season usually begins in November and runs til April.
Last winter’s flu cycle struck in the first half of November and peaked in early January.
It was believed to be one of the worst in years.
Today’s clinic is the at the Dundas Lions Memorial Community Centre gym on Market Street in Dundas.
Residents six months and older can also get vaccinated at doctors’ offices and walk-in clinics.
And 90 pharmacies in Hamilton will be offering free shots to residents five and up.
