A 34 year old man from Guelph is in serious condition at Hamilton General Hospital after rolling his cement truck at an Oakville construction site this afternoon.
Halton Police say just after the noon hour, the driver was attempting to offload cement onto a concrete pumping truck but during the manoeuvring, the truck rolled onto its side and down a shallow embankment.
The cab was severely damaged and the driver became pinned.
It took emergency crews three hours to extricate the driver and involved an emergency run of transfusions from Oakville Trafalgar Hospital to the scene and a crane truck for the rescue operation.
Dundas Street was closed in both directions in the area just west of Sixth Line while an air ambulance was on the ground.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting the Ministry of Labour inspector.
The driver’s name isn’t being released.
