The mystery around the strange death of a central Hamilton man is now in the hands of the Crown.
The body of 51-year-old Peter Wald was found in his St. Matthews Avenue home, in the Barton and Wentworth area, months after he died while his family was still living there.
It has yet to be determined if any charges will be filed against the family.
The body was found badly decomposed in September by an employee for a repossession company.
Neighbours say they hadn’t seen Wald since January.
Why the man’s death was not reported is still not known.
The regional coroner says he cannot release the cause of death without the family’s consent and is considering calling an inquest.
