The start of the King Street “bus only lane” has been a bit bumpy.
Not only are a lot of motorists upset about the traffic jam being created by the lane, some are even more upset because they’ve been ticketed.
More than 20 motorists were ticketed Wednesday for driving in the bus only lane.
But that wasn’t suppose to happen.
Councillor’s Jason Farr and Brian McHattie had indicated there would be an “education period,” with police handing out warnings for several days before any tickets were issued.
But McHattie says between 20 and 25 drivers got a ticket for $200 and two demerit points Wednesday.
McHattie has apologized for the mistake and expects the tickets to be cancelled.
