Two big games featuring two local football teams this weekend.
Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock, both the Ticats and Marauders will square off against opponents who have played better with each passing week.
At Ron Joyce Stadium, in a game you can hear on 900chml.com, Mac hosts Ottawa in their OUA quarter-final, two months after throttling the Gee-Gee’s in their season opener.
The game will be much closer than the 51-24 beat down in August.
But as good as Ottawa has played over the last few weeks, I think the Marauders get the job done at home and move onto the OUA semi’s.
Up highway 6 in Guelph on AM900 CHML, the Ticats are thinking redemption when they host the Alouettes.
Hamilton was dreadful last week in Montreal and must figure out the Al’s blitz heavy defence and keep Troy Smith in check in order to get the win.
And a victory would secure a home playoff game for the Cats… against the Alouettes in a couple of weeks.
All week long, we’ve heard from Ticats players about how they can’t get pushed around again and how Hamilton has to be the aggressor.
Well, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is.
Let’s see it happen… and I think it will.
