Convenience stores will make another pitch today, this time to allow them to sell craft beer and Ontario wine products.
Ontario Convenience Stores Association CEO Dave Bryans says the current LCBO model can be supplemented by the extending the right to sell alcohol to corner stores.
According to Bryans the current system leaves little shelf room for local wines and craft beer.
Under the new model convenience stores would prioritize partnerships with small businesses who are creating local products.
Ontario Finance Minister Charles Sousa says the current government has no intention to change the current LCBO framework, outside of including the retailer in select grocery stores.
