A traffic stop for talking on a cellphone turned up a quantity of drugs for Hamilton Police.
Action officers were in the area of Barton and Catharine Street last night when they observed a driver talking on his phone while pulling out of a parking lot.
When the officers approached they saw the driver with a large full pill bottle of percocets between his legs and arrested him for possession.
A further investigation led to a female passenger being arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking after a search of the vehicle revealed a plethora of drugs including Oxycodone pills, Oxepam, Hydromorphone pills marihuana and crack cocaine totalling over 9 thousand dollars in street value.
In addition to the drugs, an electronic scale was found and almost 15 hundred dollars in cash.
The 38 year old man and 25 year old woman were held for a bail hearing.
