The Bulldogs have their first win of the season against the Marlies.
Hamilton picking up a 2-1 overtime victory at Copps Coliseum.
Martin St. Pierre was the hero as he scored in the third period and in overtime for the home side.
The win moves Hamilton into sole possession of first in the AHL’s North Division.
Things started with a goal just five minutes into the first period as Josh Leivo scored for Toronto from Abbott and McKegg.
Hamilton would out shoot the Marlies 17-11 in the first period but trailed 1-0 on the scoreboard.
The second period saw both teams get a couple chances but neither could find the back of the net.
The Dogs would tie the game up at 11:56 of the third period as Martin St. Pierre would take the pass Magnus Nygren and fire it past Drew MacIntyre with Beaulieu picking up the second assist.
After 60 minutes the teams were tied at 1.
In overtime Hamilton had a power play and Martin St. Pierre would score his second of the game at 2:56 of the extra period. Nygren and Beaulieu with the assists on the game winner.
The Bulldogs host the Abbotsford Heat tomorrow night at 7pm.
