The 6-3 Mac Marauders take on the 8-0 Western Mustangs this Saturday at TD Stadium in London.
In week three, McMaster was pounded 58-15 by Western.
The Mustangs struck for 31 first half points including 21 in the second quarter.
Western’s Will Finch tossed five touchdown passes, finishing the game 27-for-36 with 467-yards in the air.
Receiver George Johnson scored two touchdowns recording 224-yards on nine receptions.
Western’s Tommy Marshall also recorded two touchdowns in the game.
However, McMaster was without 4 starters in the secondary, starting linebacker Nick Shortill was injured just before half-time and offensively, offensive tackle Matt Sewell didn’t play.
All those injured players were in the line-up last week, when Mac beat Ottawa 41-7 in a quarter-final.
The Mustangs averaged 57 points a game, and led the OUA in total offence per game (647 yards), rushing yards per game (225) and passing yards per game (422.)
The Marauders had the best pass defence in the OUA, allowing 225 yards through the air per game and had the best red zone production in the league at a 91 percent success rate.
In the last 10 games Mac is 5-5 against Western.
Mac has won the last two playoff matches against the Mustangs, a 42-28 win in the semi-final at home last season and 41-19 in the 2011 Yates Cup.
A McMaster win would see the Marauders play the winner of the Queen’s-Guelph game for the Yates Cup.
