The Ministry of Labour is investigating an industrial accident at a steel company on Sherman Avenue North.
Emergency crews were called to the business just after 9:30 yesterday morning for reports that an employee was operating a press when his hand slipped off of a control bar.
The bar hit him in the head causing him to fall to the ground onto a hot ingot. The victim’s pants caught fire but the flames were quickly extinguished.
The 60-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be ok.
