Hamilton’s North End Community Health Care Clinic is stepping up to help the kids under the care of the city’s Children’s Aid Society.
The CAS medical clinic, caring for about 490 youngsters, is due to close this month due to steep provincial funding cuts.
That left medical care for those children in doubt.
CAS Executive Director Dominic Verticchio says the move will ensure care for the children.
Most of them are in foster homes and many don’t have family doctors.
The move is expected to save the CAS about 300-thousnd dollars a year.
