Canadians from coast to coast pause today to reflect on the sacrifices of wars long past and modern-day conflicts coming to end.
It’s a Remembrance Day for which Canada still has large numbers of troops deployed in harm’s way.
The Remembrance Day service at the Gore Park Cenotaph begins at 10:45 this morning.
There are also services in Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, the Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope and the Royal Canadian Legion on Limeridge Road East.
Keep in mind there may be temporary road closures and detours to HSR transit in these areas.
CHML’s Bill Kelly will be broadcasting live from 9am until noon at the Gore Park Cenotaph.
Remembrance Day is not a statutory holiday, and while most businesses and services remain open, some are closed or will have shortened hours today.
Banks and government offices are closed today, there’s no mail delivery, and beer and liquor stores don’t open until noon.
