Mayor Bob Bratina has been given the all clear from the city’s integrity commissioner.
City council had asked Earl Basse to investigate whether Bratina threatened or bullied city manager Chris Murray during a heated council meeting on light rail transit.
Bratina had left after the mayor’s and spoke aggressively to Murray during the meeting.
The Spectator says Basse’s report has found that although Bratina may have been angry and his tone wasn’t appropriate – he did not contravene council’s code of conduct.
The Spec says Basse’s finding is based on the fact that Murray told him he did not feel intimidated or threatened by the mayor’s actions, nor felt his professional reputation had been injured. (Hamilton Spectator)
