A little more information is coming out about the events that may have led up to the weekend death of a Hamilton man described as a former Hells Angel.
Hamilton Homicide Detective Peter Thom tells the Spectator’s Susan Clairmont, he is checking into a report that the victim, 49-year-old James Malone, may have been in a fight with two men at a bar hours before he was gunned down on Kenilworth Avenue early Saturday morning.
Thom also says witnesses have reported Malone was first chased by two men in a truck and was gunned down on the street at close range.
Police have also been going over security video from businesses in the area and they are looking for two white men in a silver or grey Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Investigators think the murder is related to the events involving the two men and not his biker past.
He left the local chapter of the Hells Angels about two years ago.
