I’m not going to mention the name of the group who is behind the protests because what they’re looking for is free publicity and I won’t supply that.
Suffice to say that their latest gambit, to stage an anti-abortion rally outside a Catholic High School is truly the act of desperate and misguided people.
Peddling their message at a Catholic School…. are they kidding ?
That’s like trying to sell prayer books at a convent; they already get the message !
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised though.
It’s like hanging those graphic banners on the Linc, it’s really just about shock value and creating headlines.
If anyone in that group really wanted to create a dialogue about abortion, they have failed.
If they think that their actions have swayed anyone’s opinion, pro or con, they are sadly mistaken.
I’m proud that we live in a society that allows public protest, and this group has certainly exercised that right.
But protesting at high schools only angers school officials , parents and students and disrupting traffic on a major thoroughfare only infuriates commuters.
The message, if there is one, has been overshadowed by the method and it renders these ‘protests’ a total failure.
