The owner and founder of Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo has made one last plea to keep a number of banned snakes and reptiles.
Hamilton’s General Issues Committee agreed to hear again from Steve Featherstone and Paul Goulet at yesterday’s meeting.
While it wasn’t the outcome the owners were hoping for, they still have hope.
The Reptile Zoo will still have to remove all of its banned reptiles by December 16, but council says it will look at amending the bylaw in February to accomodate places like Little Ray’s.
Owner Steve Featherstone says it’s the best the zoo could hope for, despite according to him, being led astray on multiple occasions by city officials.
The Barton Street facility opened in June to provide interactive and educational programs to inner city youth as well as act as a place where people can give up their banned pets.
