The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has cleared a Hamilton police officer after an incident back in July.
A 16 year old male sustained a broken tooth and facial injury when he attempted to strike officers working in the custody area.
Officer Ryan Gagnon was charged with assault cause bodily harm and case was heard in a two-day trial.
Gagnon was acquitted and exonerated by Justice Ian B. Cowan in a Brampton Court.
Justice Cowan ruled that the officer used reasonable force in stopping a perceived assault and the force used was reasonable.
