MPPs will debate today whether to make January 21st Lincoln Alexander Day across Ontario.
Bill 125 is co-sponsored by Hamilton East-Stoney Creek MPP Paul Miller.
Alexander was Canada’s first black Member of Parliament, representing Hamilton West from 1968 to 1980.
He was Ontario’s first black Lieutenant Governor, as well as the first black Chancellor of the University of Guelph.
Alexander died last year at age 90.
