Sounds like Public School Board trustees want a break from the accommodation review process.
The board’s standing committee has postponed reviews in west Hamilton, the east mountain and lower Stoney Creek for a year.
They were supposed to begin next September.
One of the reasons for the postponement is the makeup of the board could change in next fall’s municipal election.
Over the next four years, the Public Board is expected to conduct more than a dozen reviews to eliminate about 5-thousand empty seats.
Meantime, Dundas trustee Jessica Brennan has been elected as the new chair of the Hamilton Public School Board.
Brennan was first elected to the Public Board in 2003 and was the chair in 2008 and 2009.
She was the only nominee and takes over from Tim Simmons, who recently announced he was stepping down.
Simmons has told the Spectator that he may run for Ward 3 councillor in the 2014 municipal election.
