The Hamilton Bulldogs are doing it right.
I was in Binbrook Tuesday night for the Bulldogs “community practice” at the Glanbrook Arena.
Don’t get me started on why the Glanbrook Arena is located in Binbrook, that is a commentary for another day.
But back to the Dogs, who didn’t just go through the motions in front of a few hundred onlookers, many of them young hockey players.
The Bulldogs put in a solid practice as they get ready to play Lake Erie, Toronto and the Monsters again this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, on AM900 CHML I might add.
But what made Tuesday night’s practice even more special was that donations were being collected at the door for the Steve Last Fund.
The father of three was killed in a car crash in July and the money raised, at last count $7,000, will help Jaime, Samantha and Maeve.
A big thumbs up to the Glanbrook Rangers, Losani Homes and Parkdale Chiropractic & Rehab for helping organize the event.
It is just another example of the community and the Bulldogs lending their support to a worthy cause.
And it is something that should not go unnoticed.
