Plans are in the works for a local memorial for Nelson Mandela.
Members of Stewart Memorial Church want to organize a day to celebrate the life and acheivements of the South Africa Leader, but first they want to learn more about the funeral plans in South Africa.
Evelyn Myrie says Mandela’s death marks the end of an era.
She says he symbolized integrity and social justice.
Myrie says there will be a memorial service and all of Hamilton will be welcome.
She says the church will likely be open to all to watch the broadcast of the funeral for the anti-apartied activtist. (Hamilton Spectator )
