She went out to buy chicken for dinner at a grocery store and came back 19 million dollars richer.
Jennifer MacIntyre of Hamilton, picked up more than 19 million dollars from this week’s Lotto 6-49 draw.
Jennifer called the OLG Support Centre and after reading her numbers out over the phone, she was instructed to have her ticket validated at a lottery terminal.
When she and her husband went back to the store where Jennifer purchased the ticket and the same clerk was working she said, “I think I won $19 million!”
Jennifer and her husband, who celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary on the same day they found out about the win, plan to use their winnings to help family members.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sobey’s on Queenston Road in Hamilton.
It’s the latest in a series of multi-million dollar lottery prizes to either be awarded to a Hamiltonian — or purchased in Hamilton in 2013.
Earlier this week, the O-L-G finished an extensive investigation by linking a 50 million dollar Lotto Max prize to Kathryn Jones of Hamilton — even though she’d lost her ticket. Other local winners include Nick Takticos and Gayle Zolaturiuk who each cashed 30 million dollar tickets.
